SDI Presence Modernizes Asset Management for the City of Chicago Office of Public Safety Administration

ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management solution centralizes asset data, automates lifecycle processes, and strengthens accountability and compliance

CHICAGO, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SDI Presence LLC (SDI), a leading IT consultancy and managed services provider, announces the successful implementation of ServiceNow Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) for the City of Chicago's Office of Public Safety Administration (PSA). The modernization gives PSA a centralized approach to tracking, managing, and auditing nearly 60,000 mission-critical assets deployed across the city.

Working with SDI, PSA replaced fragmented systems, spreadsheets, and manual workflows with a centralized EAM solution on the ServiceNow platform. The new environment establishes a single source of truth for asset data, automates key lifecycle and audit processes, and gives PSA greater visibility into assets from acquisition through retirement.

The modernization supports the City of Chicago's commitment to accountability, transparency, and compliance with its federal consent decree. More accurate, auditable asset records and chain-of-custody tracking for critical equipment, including body-worn cameras, Tasers, and radios, strengthen PSA's controls and reporting capabilities while helping ensure equipment is available where and when it is needed.

"This implementation gives PSA a more consistent and connected way to manage our critical assets," said Adam Pondexter, Director of Information Systems for the City of Chicago Office of Public Safety Administration. "With greater visibility into asset information, ownership, and lifecycle needs, our teams can spend less time managing manual processes and more time supporting operational priorities. It also gives us a stronger foundation to continue improving accountability, compliance, and supporting the safety of Chicago's residents."

Beyond improved visibility and streamlined workflows, the new EAM environment is expected to deliver measurable operational efficiencies. Anticipated benefits include a 40% to 60% reduction in audit labor, faster onboarding and provisioning, reduced asset loss, improved chain-of-custody tracking, and greater cost recovery through stronger alignment of assets to funding sources and grant-compliant reporting.

"Managing mission-critical assets requires more than accurate records. It requires confidence that equipment is accounted for, ready for use and securely retired," said LaDarius Jackson, Vice President of ServiceNow Delivery at SDI Presence. "By connecting asset data and automating lifecycle processes, we're helping PSA strengthen accountability, improve operational readiness, and better safeguard public resources."

With its core EAM environment in place, PSA is positioned to advance capabilities such as real-time chain-of-custody tracking, predictive maintenance, advanced analytics, and expanded workflow automation. Future integrations across Chicago's public safety technology ecosystem could also connect procurement, asset valuation, fleet intelligence and lifecycle-based budgeting to authoritative asset records, providing leadership with greater insight to guide operational and financial decisions.
