WASHINGTON and WILLIAMSBURG, Va., April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SDV Solutions, a leading provider of information technology (IT) services to the federal government, has entered into an agreement to take over the four-story York County, Virginia, office building in which it has leased space for the past year.
In January 2009, SDV relocated its corporate headquarters from Toano, VA, to larger accommodations in the 38,000-square-foot Waller Mill Road facility. The company recently won a $140 million, seven-year contract to provide agency-wide IT support to the Social Security Administration, which contributed to the decision to expand.
"It's a big feather in our cap to win contracts of this size," says SDV President Mike McMahan. "These are full and open contracts, and in the bidding process we compete against very large, well-known companies."
The scope of the SSA contract will require hiring more employees. SDV expects to add 50 to the Williamsburg staff and up to 100 for its office locations around the world. All new-hires will fulfill the company's requirements for security-cleared personnel.
"We're currently in a position of 'hyper growth,'" McMahan explains. "In two to three years SDV will grow beyond small business status and we'll be going after even larger, strategic government contracts."
SDV is poised to win two other large contracts this year, with more to follow in the near term. In 2010, to properly handle its expanded work load, SDV opened support centers in Los Angeles, San Diego and Tampa, and established Middle East office locations in Bahrain and Qatar.
