Seahawks Partner with Volt Athletics to Bring Strength Training to Local High Schools

RENTON, Wash., Aug. 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Volt Athletics, a Seattle-based sports technology company, announced today a partnership with the Seattle Seahawks to donate professionally-built strength and conditioning programs to three Washington State high school football programs, delivered through Volt's intelligent training app. The three schools, chosen in collaboration with the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), are Renton, John F. Kennedy, and Sumner High Schools.

Volt tells athletes exactly what to do in the gym-from reps and sets to the amount of weight to lift in each exercise. Photos and technique demonstrations, along with step-by-step instructions and coaching cues, ensure athletes always know how to correctly perform a movement. Volt's intelligent training engine automatically adjusts athletes' training over time, so there is never a risk of overtraining or hitting a plateau in their fitness.

Volt's intelligent training app lets athletes track every set of every workout, then creates a comprehensive workout summary after each completed training session. Each summary reflects the breakdown of training attributes developed during the workout (Strength, Durability, etc.), the number of recently completed workouts, total tonnage lifted, and more. Athletes can also choose to add a photo and caption and share their workout summary on social media, helping to increase athlete buy-in and accountability.

This donation is the first of its kind by any major professional sports franchise and reflects the shared values of both organizations and their commitment to athlete health and safety. Using Volt's technology, football players at these three high schools will get the opportunity to access safe and effective workout plans, which will help them build strength and reduce the risk of injury.
