Sears Unveils Dramatic Renovation of Four Stores

- Sudbury, Oshawa, Les Galeries d'Anjou and Saint-Jerome reopen today

TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - With a renewed commitment to customer service and dramatic changes to store layout and merchandising, big things are happening at Sears.

Today, Sears Canada (TSX: SCC) unveils four more of its new, refreshed store concepts in two Ontario locations: New Sudbury Centre and Oshawa Centre, and two Quebec locations: Les Galeries d'Anjou and Carrefour du Nord in Saint-Jerome.  These stores reflect the Company's ongoing commitment to transform the Sears shopping experience in Canada.

The refreshed stores offer customers new brands and product displays across all departments. The Kitchen Shop has leading brands of small appliances organized by type for easier shopping and gadgets that are perfect for Holiday entertaining.  Major appliances, of which Sears sells more than any other retailer in Canada, are displayed in gallery settings to allow customers to see the items in a real home setting.  The mattress department has expanded to as many as 50 bed options to suit all comfort and budget needs.

New Denim styles for women include Parasuco, Fast Fashion and Seven.  The Men's Suit Shop is stepping it up with a wider fashion variety including Calvin Klein suits and "Canada's Best" dress shirts by Boulevard Club - with sales assistance provided by the Company's trained, wardrobe-savvy associates to help ensure great style and fit.  The new footwear department has added Indigo by Clarks and Franco Sarto for women, Guess for Men, and Tommy Hilfiger for Kids.  The Kids Room is cooler than ever with Nike and Nevada brands, all backed by the Sears "KidVantage" program, featuring a wear-out warranty where Sears replaces or repairs any item of clothing that wears out before children outgrow it.  

Sears is launching these newly refreshed locations on Friday, November 2, 2012, with ribbon-cutting ceremonies attended by local dignitaries and representatives from Sears charity partners to whom Sears will be making a significant donation to mark the occasion of a new Sears in their community. 

On Saturday, shoppers can enter to win $500 cash cards every hour - from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Sudbury, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Oshawa, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Les Galeries d'Anjou, and from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Saint-Jerome.
