Secor Group Celebrates 125th Year in Business

WASHINGTON, March 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Secor Group, a global moving, storage and logistics company, today announced its 125th anniversary. Founded in 1890 as part of American Security and Trust, the company is one of the oldest continually operating businesses in Washington, D.C.

In 1927, the company invented the first steel containers for moving goods overseas. Immediately following 9/11, the Secor Group logistics team responded quickly and deployed supplies for U.S. troops stationed abroad. The Secor Group continued to innovate throughout the years, including opening the first 20-foot steel container warehouse in the country in 2002 and reducing its environmental footprint by purchasing hybrid vehicles beginning in 2004.
