ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Sector 5, Inc. (OTCQB: SECT) announces that it has issued an LOI to acquire outright the Delaware-based private technology company Sector Five, Inc. a highly ranked Chromebook seller on Amazon. This acquisition is complementary to the current business plan and operations.
"Chromebooks outsold Macs in the US for the first time last quarter," according to research firm IDC, which tracks PC sales. "It's a sign that a growing number of PC users are realizing they don't need to spend a thousand bucks or more on a laptop, especially when they're buying a new smartphone every other year."
Roger McKeague, Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Google's announcement that Chrome OS will be utilizing Android Apps and Google Play Store, ensures that Sector 5's Chromebooks will be a hot seller in the consumer, EDU, and B2B space. Google Play Store has over 1 million Apps online. These apps and extensions greatly enhance the already extensive Chromebook features and functionality. For more information on Chromebooks that support the Android App, see https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/6401474?hl=en."
Sector 5, Inc.'s purchase of the private company, Sector Five, Inc., will allow it to take advantage of the footprint Sector Five, Inc. of Delaware has already made in the Chromebook marketplace.
McKeague announced, "It is the second quarter and we are making significant progress towards our goals for 2016. Adding Sector Five's reputation and reach in the education market will accelerate Sector 5's ability to deliver the best electronics at the best prices to our education and business clients. We anticipate the audit for Sector Five Delaware to be completed in 60 days or sooner, enabling the completion of this acquisition."
