Security Services for Domestic Abuse Victims
Reynolds Protection offers pro bono personal protection services through its latest program, Protecting Hands
DALLAS, March 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Reynolds Protection, a leading security and personal protection agency located in Dallas, has announced the launch of Protecting Hands, a service designed to help victims of domestic abuse defend themselves against their aggressors.
With the in-person presence and assistance of security professionals, victims are empowered to carry out the actions they need to leave an abusive situation. Victims can elect to be escorted to their homes to pack belongings, to be accompanied to court for divorce proceedings, to have assistance with supervised child visitations, or to have a professional stand guard at a residence to deny entry to an unwanted guest. Reynolds Protection is offering this service pro bono each month to three abuse victims living in the state of Texas.
"Reynolds Protection isn't about only protecting the privileged and wealthy. We want to stop domestic abuse, one bully at a time," Chad Reynolds, the company's CEO, said. "In the past, there have been victims who want help but can't afford to hire their own security team. This is exactly why we formed Protecting Hands: To donate our expertise to anyone who is abused so they can leave their situation with security and dignity. Less than one-third of abuse victims in the state of Texas ever call law enforcement for help. We want to be that link to their freedom."
Beyond Knuckles and Guns
Many of the agency's professionals have spent part of their careers in the military, law enforcement, entertainment security, or in corrections. In addition to the skills they have acquired from these jobs, Reynolds Protection professionals undergo mandatory training in a classroom setting to learn interpersonal skills such as evasive driving and body language warning signs. All of the personal protection professionals also participate in mandatory gun testing and strength and conditioning drills.
All licensing, schooling, and training is given and governed by the Department of Public Safety's Private Securities Bureau.
