John Bell Joins Securus Technologies as Senior Vice President of Sales to Develop High-Tech, Software-Based Sales Team
DALLAS, Jan. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Securus Technologies, a leading provider of civil and criminal justice technology solutions for public safety, investigation, corrections and monitoring, announced today that it has added a senior sales executive to develop a high-tech, software-based sales team to complement its expanded portfolio of over 800 products for the law enforcement and corrections sectors.
John Bell joined Securus Technologies, effective December 30, 2015, as the Senior Vice President of Sales.
"We have invested $600 million in the acquisition and development of several hundred safety, security and efficiency related products over the last three (3) years. For that reason, we needed to add a key sales resource, with experience related to transforming and evolving sales teams, so that we can effectively present our expanded product set," said Richard A. ("Rick") Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Securus Technologies.
"John Bell has a career of transforming organizational culture and performance into exceptional performance, exceptional growth, and developing exceptional sales leaders – an outstanding 35-year career that is the foundation of his professional portfolio. Part of that career was at IBM, the cream of the crop of high-tech/high integrity/premier sales business processes and people development companies," said Smith.
Mr. Bell graduated from Holy Cross with additional postgraduate work at the Wharton School of Business and the Kellogg School of Management. His professional career includes work at IBM, Verizon, AT&T, NTT Verio, and Time Warner Cable. Mr. Bell assumes responsibility for Securus' 100-person sales team that includes 60 feet on the street, quota-carrying sales associates.
Josh Conklin, Sales Vice President at Securus, will report directly to Mr. Bell and will retain his existing executive responsibilities.
Messrs. Bell and Conklin will work together to take all of the good work that Josh has accomplished to date and they will build on that to accomplish the following key goals:
"If our corrections and law enforcement partners understand everything that we offer – we would win every new contract and never lose a contract," said Smith. "What we offer has changed dramatically – much more complex with sophisticated safety, security, and productivity tools, as well as an investigative suite – and our sales team needs to evolve to present those products more effectively. John Bell has a record of exceptional performance that is a great match for Securus Technologies."
