The MOA estimates 10.1 million tonnes of corn, rice, wheat, soybean, potato, cotton, and rapeseeds were used in 2014, with a market value at USD13.2 billion. Accordingly, imports of seeds, seedlings, breeding stock, fry and wild animals and plants for reproduction continue to be exempt from VAT in China during 201 6-2020.

Meanwhile, prices of hybrid rice seeds, conventional hybrid corn seeds and peanut seeds are basically flat with that over last year while prices of fresh corn and vegetable seeds are down slightly.
