Selective Insurance Group Announces Officer Appointments

BRANCHVILLE, N.J., May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Selective Insurance Group, Inc. announced the following appointments by its subsidiary, Selective Insurance Company of America:

Edith M. Aguila (Allentown, PA) to vice president, underwriting manager of Selective's Mid Atlantic Region office.  Ms. Aguila joined Selective in 1988 as an underwriting trainee and has held a variety of underwriting positions.  Ms. Aguila earned a B.A. in Political Science from Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA and is a Certified Insurance Counselor.

Vere Bryan (Telford, PA) to vice president, Commercial Lines Underwriting, Lines of Business and Product Development.  Mr. Bryan joined Selective in 2010 as assistant vice president, General Liability, Umbrella and Professional Liability Line of Business manager. Prior to that, he was assistant vice president of Casualty for Harleysville Insurance Company.  Mr. Bryan holds a B.S. in Finance from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law in Hartford, CT.

Joseph T. Greco (Garnet Valley, PA) to assistant vice president, Workers Compensation Line of Business manager.  Mr. Greco joined Selective in April 2011.  Prior to that, he served as the Commercial Markets division underwriting officer for PMA Insurance Company.  Mr. Greco earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Janet R. Popowski (Simsbury, CT) to assistant vice president, General Liability, Umbrella and Professional Liability Line of Business manager.  Ms. Popowski joined Selective in February 2011.  Prior to that, she led the product development effort for Commercial Accounts at Travelers Insurance Company.  Ms. Popowski holds a B.S. in Finance from Miami University in Oxford, OH and holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation.

Cynthia M. Sanchez (Oak Ridge, NJ) to assistant vice president, Information Technology.  Ms. Sanchez joined Selective in 1988 as a programmer.  She has held a variety of management positions within Selective's Information Technology operation. Ms. Sanchez earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Glassboro State College in 1988. 

Michael R. Zondory (Advance, NC) to assistant vice president, Property Large Loss and Catastrophe Claims.  Mr. Zondory joined Selective in January 2011 after holding the position of property general adjuster for the Hartford Insurance Company.  Mr. Zondory earned his B.S. in Healthcare Administration from Milligan College in Milligan, TN and holds the Property Claims Law Associate designation.
