Selective Insurance Group Announces Officer Appointments

BRANCHVILLE, N.J., Aug. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Selective Insurance Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIGI), announced the following appointments by its subsidiary, Selective Insurance Company of America:

Jeffrey Beck (Lafayette Hill, PA) to senior vice president, Government and Regulatory Affairs. Mr. Beck joined Selective in 2007 as vice president, Government Affairs. Prior to Selective, he was the head of State Government Relations for Aetna. Mr. Beck earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA. He is chairman of the Insurance Council of New Jersey, board member of the Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania and chairman of the Government Affairs Subcommittee of the Property Casualty Insurance Association of America.

Robert McKenna (Sparta, NJ) to senior vice president, Enterprise Architecture & Information Security. Mr. McKenna joined Selective in 2003 as an IT network specialist and has held various positions within the company's IT operations before his previous position of vice president, Infrastructure Architecture and Engineering in 2010. Mr. McKenna earned a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ and an MBA from Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. In addition, he attained a Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Cassie Masone (Andover, NJ) to vice president, Flood Operations. Ms. Masone joined Selective in 1997 as an auditor in Selective's Internal Audit department. Since that time, she has held various positions within the company including operations analyst and reinsurance manager before becoming assistant vice president of flood operations in 2010. Ms. Masone earned her B.S. in Finance from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.

Eric Thiessen (Wantage, NJ) to vice president, Information Management. Mr. Thiessen joined Selective in July 1995 as a programmer and has held various positions within the company's IT operations before becoming assistant vice president, Information and Business Intelligence Architecture in 2008. Mr. Thiessen earned a B.S. in Business Information Systems from Messiah College in Grantham, PA, and an M.S. in Information Management from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He also holds a designation as a Project Management Professional.

Sean Ritson (Hamburg, NJ) to assistant vice president, Actuarial Pricing. Mr. Ritson joined Selective in 2011 as a senior actuarial analyst and most recently served as actuarial manager. Previously, he was an actuarial consultant for the National Council on Compensation Insurance. Mr. Ritson earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
