NEW YORK, June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the complete retail availability of the Samsung GALAXY S4 across all major U.S. phone carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T and Sprint), SellCell.com today released new statistics revealing a large jump in nationwide trade-ins from the weeks preceding and during the S4's in-store arrival. From the aggregate in-store availability period from April 21 – May 25, 2013, Samsung GALAXY SIII smartphones were up 160 percent over SII trade-ins during the same time period last year and this year combined. • The week inclusive of Sprint's and AT&T's (and preceding T-Mobile's) retail availability of the Samsung GALAXY S4 (April 28 – May 4, 2013) saw the highest amount of trade-ins
  • Total smartphone trade-ins on SellCell.com for this week increased 161 percent from the same time last year;
  • iPhone trade-ins for this week increased 137 percent from the same time last year; and
  • Samsung GALAXY S Series trade-ins for this week increased 244 percent from the same time last year.
• The week preceding Verizon retail availability of the Samsung GALAXY S4 (May 12-18, 2013) saw the second highest amount of trade-ins
  • Total smartphone trade-ins on SellCell.com for this week increased 75 percent from the same time last year;
  • iPhone trade-ins for this week increased 270 percent from the same time last year; and
  • Samsung GALAXY S Series trade-ins for this week increased 462 percent from the same time last year.
