GREAT FALLS, Va., Oct. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Servhawk™ LLC, a leading provider of server energy analytics solutions, has received an investment of $200,000 from the Center for Innovative Technology's (CIT) Commonwealth Energy Fund (CEF).
First announced this spring, the CEF is a new source of investment capital for energy-centric entrepreneurs based in Virginia. The fund seeks the very best ventures with the ability to immediately generate significant revenues and create high-value jobs within the Commonwealth.
Denis Yaro, Servhawk CEO, said, "We are proud to be one of a small handful of companies (out of over 200 applicants) being funded under the CEF program. We look forward to the CIT relationship helping us expand our marketing efforts and reach our target customers."
Energy consumption is the fastest growing component of data center spending (and servers are the biggest culprits). Servhawk provides a proprietary, non-disruptive, easy-to-deploy solution that delivers server energy analytics, helping IT organizations identify ways to use less energy and lower operating costs.
Pete Jobse, CIT President and CEO, said, "CIT likes to invest in new companies with innovative ideas that tackle real challenges. One of the major data center challenges today is energy, with consumption expected to continue growing dramatically in coming years. Servhawk's server energy analytics solution helps address this growing need."
Servhawk's solution takes server inventory and utilization data and quickly turns it into actionable energy usage, efficiency, and productivity information. Servhawk also offers tools to examine alternative server deployments, quantifying potential reductions in energy consumption and cost.
Yaro added, "IT organizations never used to be concerned with energy issues. That's changed dramatically in recent years."
