Service Experts Announces Top 5 Finalists in their $25,000 "Experts Creating Experts" Contest
DALLAS, Dec. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Someone's dream is about to come true. The five finalists in the Experts Creating Experts Contest, sponsored by Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning, have been announced, and the company is inviting the public to weigh in on selecting a winner. One of the five finalists will win $25,000 to be used toward becoming a bona fide expert in a topic they are passionate about. Voting is taking place now through December 12 on Service Experts' Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ServiceExpertsHeatingandAirConditioning). The $25,000 Experts Creating Experts contest winner will be announced by the end of the year.
The finalists complete entries can be seen on the web; highlights include:
- Sara and Andrew would like to become experts in inspiring wonder and awe in children about the ocean via captivating tales and picture books. Adventurers and explorers at heart, they both were inspired at a young age with a love for the ocean that continues to grow, and they currently teach marine science.
- Sylvia wants to be an expert dancer. Sylvia started dancing when she was two years old, but discovered her love for ballroom dancing in college. However, she married and had children, putting her dancing on hold. Now, with her children in college, Sylvia wants to continue her dream of dancing by re-enrolling in dance classes.
- Tamiko wants to create many experts by establishing a reverse scholarship, helping first-generation students attain a post-secondary education and leave poverty. Tamiko hopes that a reverse scholarship fund (the students receive the funds after they get their degrees) will mean that post-secondary education for students will be an accessible, possible option.
- Jillian and Mike dream of becoming expert foragers, finding edibles growing in the wild. Earlier this year, Jillian left her first real professional job in New York City, and with her friend, Mike, they set out to work the land all season - planning, planting and sending hundreds of pounds of produce to New York City. Their goal is to meet and talk with foragers from around the nation and see the way in which they work and how the land is integral to them.
- Katherine wants to be an expert chef. Katherine currently works as a tax accountant for a large public accounting firm but dreams of expertly cooking away in the kitchen. She hopes to enroll at a culinary school that focuses on raw, vegetarian and macrobiotic cooking. After graduation, she hopes to open her own healthy, natural café.
