BELLEVUE, Wash., July 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Donuts Inc., the world's largest registry for new generic top-level domains (gTLDs), will make registrations in .SERVICES available Wednesday at regular pricing levels, following its normal week-long Early Access Program.
While the company carefully selected the gTLDs for which it applied and now operates, it notes .SERVICES is one of the more broadly useful and widely appealing gTLDs it has released to date and expects strong uptake.
"We seldom place one of our gTLDs above others, but we do like this one," said Donuts co-founder and CEO Paul Stahura. "In a worldwide service economy like the one in which we now operate, a gTLD like .SERVICES can be extremely useful for all kinds of service providers. And with its general availability quickly approaching, now is the time for registrants to get in line with their registrars to secure valuable names."
According to the company, there are many premium names available in .SERVICES, and few have been reserved, making the majority of premiums available to any registrant.
Stahura elaborated by saying, "Though we have very good data, periodically a gTLD will surprise us. We believed .GURU would be strong, for example, but not as strong as it turned out to be. We think .SERVICES has the potential to be one of our strongest gTLDs so far, including in the post-registration aftermarket. There are a lot of gems in there."
The company advises end-users to urgently contact accredited domain name registrars for more information about how to secure registrations in .SERVICES and its other gTLDs.
