SETforMARRIAGE.com Launches Enhanced Online Experience With More Social Media-Like Features
HOUSTON, Feb. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SETforMARRIAGE.com, a dating site focused solely on those looking to find a partner in marriage, today announces significant enhancements to its existing online experience.
Merging social media features and functionality with its existing dating site platform, SETforMARRIAGE.com seeks to bring richer avenues for its members to find their partner for life.
Enhancements, such as the ability to "like" and comment on members' posts along with enhanced searching capabilities that coincide with a "News Feed," allow users to interact in ways not typically found on dating sites.
In 2013, SETforMARRIAGE.com first introduced features closely resembling popular social media sites. These features included a News Feed and the ability to post thoughts and photos as well as "follow" other members to see what they say or do as they interact casually with the site and other members.
Users now have the ability to not only save and name their custom searches, but they can use those criteria to filter their News Feed as well. "We want to have the kind of site that is always interesting because our members interact, post and respond to each other," said Houston native Brad Boyd, CEO of SETforMARRIAGE.com.
With the ability to "like" and comment on posts from desired dating candidates extra logic had to be built into the infrastructure so that a potential suitor will not be able to see comments from other members following the same person.
Boyd adds, "Let's say that a woman who 'John' is following posts vacation photos onto the News Feed. He comments, 'Looks like you're having a great time!' And 'Michael' also comments similarly. When you see others chasing the same person, suddenly you have an environment that begins to breed competition rather than fostering casual conversation. We've made the experience such that only the person posting can see all of the comments and likes. The 'suitors' cannot see each other's interaction."

The enhancements to the site went live February 9.
