Seton Fund of Florida and Odyssey Announce New Pathways to Catholic Education

A new Florida-focused Scholarship Granting Organization will pair Catholic leadership with Odyssey's leading technology to support the Education Freedom Tax Credit.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Seton Fund of Florida, a Scholarship Granting Organization created to help more families access Catholic education across Florida, is today announcing a partnership with Odyssey, the nation's leading technology platform for education choice. Odyssey will provide the secure technology that powers the Seton Fund's operations, including donor contributions, scholarship applications, eligibility review, school participation, fund distribution, payments, and compliance.

The Seton Fund is designed for Florida's Catholic-school community: grounded in Catholic leadership, built to serve participating dioceses and schools across Florida, and structured to connect donors nationwide with Catholic education in the state. Through the Seton Fund, eligible contributions under the new Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC) will be converted into scholarships for students, while Odyssey's platform will provide the infrastructure needed to administer those funds securely, efficiently, and transparently. Together, the organizations aim to make it easier to access an education rooted in the Catholic faith and academic excellence.

How the Education Freedom Tax Credit works

Beginning January 1, 2027, eligible taxpayers may receive a federal tax credit of up to $1,700 for contributions to qualified Scholarship Granting Organizations. The EFTC program directs those contributions to scholarships for private-school tuition and other qualifying educational expenses.
