SFK Surpasses the $32 Million Mark in Cumulative Fundraising, Creating More Opportunities for Children to Benefit from Social Emotional Learning Programs
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SFK-Success for Kids today announced the release of its 2009 Annual Report. An online version of the report was released as part of the organization's effort to go green and support the environment. Since 2001, SFK has grown to become one of the largest international volunteer-driven social emotional learning organizations and has been delivering research-based programs that enhance four personal strengths (interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, problem solving skills and self-sufficiency) to give students a greater sense of purpose in their lives.
"Our donors recognize the important role SFK plays in a child's life. Their generosity has made it possible to expand our reach around the world. For every dollar that is entrusted with SFK, $0.85 goes to our programs," said Dwayne Ashley, CEO of Global Operations, SFK. "As we continue to expand across the globe, we are committed to maximizing our donors' support by running an efficient and effective operation. We are proud to be one of the most cost effective charities in the world."
The Annual Report highlights the impact of the program on the more than 60,000 children served internationally and illustrates the growth in fundraising, which surpassed $32 million in programmatic support since 2001. Report Highlights include the following:
- More than 15,000 children were impacted in 2009
- 85% of all contributions went directly to programs
- Student and school participation grew significantly from 2006 to 2009
- SFK revised its Level 1 program for public schools from a 10-week to a 30-week program
- The organization now serves 8 countries and 11 sites around the world
"At the core of the SFK program is the belief that all children regardless of geographic location or cultural background have the capacity to be productive citizens who can reach their fullest potential," said Dr. Heath Grant, CEO of Global Education and Outreach, SFK.
