SGH Names William Bruin Structural Engineering Region Head, West

Bill will lead and manage all structural and marine engineering divisions across the West Coast, Gulf Coast, and Mountain Region

WALTHAM, Mass., April 1, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) announced Senior Principal William (Bill) Bruin will serve as the new Structural Engineering Region Head, West, overseeing the structural and marine engineering divisions in Oakland, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Newport Beach, CA; Houston, TX; and Denver, CO. In this role, he also joins SGH's Executive Committee, which is responsible for the firm's management and operations decisions.

Bill brings extensive experience in risk consulting, structural engineering, and project management applied over a variety of industrial, offshore, and waterfront projects, primarily in the oil and gas industry. His career has focused on condition assessment, response evaluation, risk identification, hazard mitigation, due diligence assessments, and design for a wide variety of onshore, near-shore, and offshore structures and facilities. He is also committed to giving back to the profession. He is active with several ASCE-COPRI committees and has traveled to disaster locations for earthquake and tsunami reconnaissance.
