SGT Appraised At CMMI Maturity Level 5 For Both Development And Services For Civil And Defense Customers

GREENBELT, Md., Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SGT, Inc. today announced that effective August 19, 2016 it has been appraised at Maturity Level 5 of both the Development and Services models of the CMMI Institute's Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®; making it just the second company in the United States and twenty-second in the world to currently have achieved the highest levels for both models concurrently. SGT's appraisal applies to the following domains: Engineering, Science, Information Technology Services, and Program/Project Management for development and services projects for Civil and Defense Customers.

The appraisal was performed by Process Strategies, Inc. CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at Maturity Level 5 indicates that the organization is performing at an "optimizing" level. At this level, an organization continually improves its processes based on a quantitative understanding of its business objectives and performance needs. The organization uses a quantitative approach to understand the variation inherent in the process and the causes of process outcomes.
