ShangPin.com Launches Lanvin's China E-Flagship Store to Expand into New Online "Shopping Mall" Business Model

China's first online full priced Designer & Contemporary Fashion Retailer to host e-flagships of leading fashion brands for its affluent customer base.

BEIJING and NEW YORK, Nov. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ShangPin, China's first online retailer for authorized designer and contemporary fashion today announced the launch of Lanvin's China e-flagship store to be hosted on Shangpin.com as the retailer expands its business as an online shopping mall with shop-in-shop "E-Flagship" stores.

The Lanvin E-Flagship is an independent e-flagship store hosted on the ShangPin.com site with a curated selection of Men's and Women's clothing, bags, accessories and shoes.

In September 2012, ShangPin made fashion history in China by being the first online fashion retailer to sell full priced designer and contemporary fashion with its unmatched high-end customer base and average sale of RMB 2000 (USD 330). ShangPin currently has close to 8 million customers with sales in over 400 cities and reaching deep into the heart of China.

The brand can maintain their own independent branded stores that is separated from the brands in our own multi-branded retail area. Chinese consumers love to browse and shop by category so we have translated that preference to create an online shopping mall experience."

According to CLSA's recent report on China's e-commerce market, B2C shopping in China will shortly surpass the USA. Within a space of just three years, the total value of B2C online sales in China has leapt from US$ 3 billion to US$ 64 million with more than 89% year on year sales growth.

Creating an online shopping experience suited to Chinese consumer taste

While full priced online retailers have existed for more than 10 years in the West, ShangPin is first in China. The Chinese fashion consumers are still learning about brands and experimenting with their own style, says M.
