The Share the Road truck was at the National Zoo on July 10 last year to deliver a crate for Happy the Hippo. Share the Road Professional Drivers John Foran and Frank Silio picked up the crate at the Metro Zoo in Miami and transported it to Washington so Happy could get accustomed to his new home before his big move to Milwaukee in late 2009.
"Bringing the crate to the zoo was a fun experience," said John Foran, a driver for UPS. "Everything in this zoo was delivered by a truck, and the crate is prime example of that. We're here today to let people know how important trucks are, and to show how to stay safe alongside them on the highway."
Share the Road Professional Drivers John Foran and Frank Silio (Covenant Transport) bring a combined 38 years and 4.8 million miles of accident-free driving experience to the Guppy Gala event. They provide the perspective of veteran professional truck drivers and offer families attending the event tips for summer driving and other safety information.
