HAYWARD, Calif., Oct. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Shasta Beverages, Inc., a national leader in flavor creation, along with its parent company, National Beverage Corp., was honored to take part in the efforts of ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition episode airing Friday, November 4th. Aided by Shasta employees, Bring Change 2 Mind, the non-profit organization, and 3,000 volunteers, ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition successfully built a new home for the Hill family of Ottawa, Kansas.
National Beverage supplied the entire crew, including 1,000 skilled tradespeople and 2,000 community volunteers, with an assortment of Shasta sodas, LaCroix sparkling waters and MegaSport sports drinks to keep everyone cool in the stifling summer heat. In total, 38,000 cans and bottles of beverages were donated to the cause. A cooler filled with National Beverage products was also given to the Hill family as a housewarming gift. Shasta, LaCroix, and MegaSport are manufactured in various National Beverage facilities throughout the nation, including the local Lenexa, Kansas plant.

ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition selected Iraqi War veteran Staff Sgt. Allen Hill and his family as the recipients of a newly constructed home where the entire family will feel safe and protected. Staff Sgt. Hill was nearly killed by a roadside bomb while serving in the military and now suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
