CANTON, Mich., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Aluminium Norf GmbH operates one of the largest aluminum rolling mills in the world, producing hot and cold-rolled strips for a wide range of applications. Pilz fitted one of the shears with new electrical equipment to improve operational safety. The Pilz PSS control system, in conjunction with centralized and decentralized Safetybus p modules, was installed to perform the safety functions. The new system required less wiring while allowing for universal diagnostics and a trouble free connection to Profibus-DP. The safety system is also compliant up to Category 4 of EN 954-1.
