ALTOONA, Pa., Dec. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sheetz Convenience Store opens a new location in Lancaster, PA, to increase convenience for customers in Lancaster County. Located at 2425 Old Philadelphia Pike, the new store will give people in Lancaster a new location for great food and drinks. The celebration will include customer giveaways, food, drinks, games and free coffee for a limited time at the new location.
Employees will cut a ribbon and open the doors at 11:00 a.m. on December 23, 2014 together with locals of Lancaster, city and county officials.
"Lancaster is an important developing market for us," says CEO, Joe Sheetz. "The Lancaster community has embraced our brand and we pride ourselves on connecting with the communities in which we operate. We are honored to grow that existing connection with the Lancaster community."
The new store will feature the same award-winning MTO® food menu as all other Sheetz locations and will create 30 new full and part-time jobs.
During Tuesday's celebration attendees will enjoy free food, drinks, games and chances for customers to win dozens of prizes. "We try to make all of our openings fun for everyone with lots of activities, games and samples of Sheetz food and drinks," Sheetz says.
As part of the grand opening, Sheetz will make a donation of $2500 to Special Olympics Pennsylvania, a cause that is valued by the company and employees. Sheetz has been a proud supporter of the Special Olympics for more than 20 years with both financial and product support as well as providing event volunteers.
Sheetz encourages each store to get involved in causes that are important in their respected communities. In addition, Sheetz stores participate in For the Kidz® Christmas Event where 16 local kids, through Sheetz partnership with the Salvation Army, will be given a way to celebrate the holidays. The children will receive new clothes, toys, and other basic needs at Christmas parties throughout PA, OH, MD, WV, VA and NC. This holiday season, 7,400 children will participate in this event where Santa will present them with the gifts. Each store participates with their district to send local families, with seriously ill children, on a dream trip to Orlando, Florida through our partnership with Make-A-Wish Foundation®. This year, Sheetz employees and customers will send 42 kids and their families to Disney World during the holiday season.
The new Sheetz will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and will offer fresh food such as Angus beef burgers, premium grilled chicken sandwiches, freshly made salads, French fries, onion rings and more.
