NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sheraton New Orleans announces the launch of an exclusive exhibit of original photographs of 1950s New Orleans by world-famous Jack Robinson. The collection, curated by Southern historian and author Dr. Sarah Wilkerson Freeman will be on display as part of the hotel's 30th anniversary celebration.

The collection of black and white photographs taken during Robinson's early years as a photographer in New Orleans include iconic images of the city. Other photographs document legendary locales and Mardi Gras celebrations. After 10 years in New Orleans, Robinson moved to New York City where he became a celebrated fashion and portrait photographer for Vogue Magazine, photographing cultural icons such as Andy Warhol, Elton John and Joni Mitchell. The Jack Robinson exhibit is available to the public free of charge, thanks to the unique partnership between Sheraton New Orleans and Robinson Galleries.
