Shop.org Names Symphony Commerce a Finalist in Digital Commerce Startup of the Year Competition
CEO and Co-Founder Harish Abbott to Present at Retail's BIG Show
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Symphony Commerce, an enterprise-level commerce as a service platform, has been named a finalist in the Shop.org Digital Commerce Startup of the Year competition. Symphony was chosen from a group of over 60 qualified applicants by a judging panel of venture capitalists, industry analysts, retail executives and Shop.org Board members as a startup transforming the digital commerce industry.
"Symphony has already shown significant potential as a company that helps brands build a retail and wholesale ecosystem. In this changing world of retail, that opportunity is important to new business," said NRF Senior Vice President and Shop.org Executive Director Vicki Cantrell. "We are sure we will see more from this company for years to come."
Harish Abbott, Symphony's CEO and co-founder, will present at Retail's BIG Show at the Jacob Javitz Center in NYC on Monday, January 12, 2014 as part of the competition. He will give an overview of the company's commerce infrastructure and services, which allow growing brands to scale retail and wholesale operations, as Symphony competes to be named the industry's hottest startup.
"Our goal at Symphony is to be a true partner," said Harish Abbott, CEO and co-founder, Symphony Commerce. "There are significant operational challenges in running an online direct-to-consumer and wholesale business. We created the Symphony platform so that brands could avoid those challenges and spend more time focusing on driving revenue. It is an honor to be recognized by Shop.org and some of the most forward-thinking individuals in the industry, especially this early on in our business venture."
Unlike other companies in the space, Symphony goes beyond online storefront solutions and shopping cart services. The company also manages critical business activities including fulfillment and marketing, and its platform allows brands to control their entire business – both retail and wholesale operations – in one place.
