Shuttle Computer Group and ScholarChip Seamlessly Keep Track of Students' Attendance and Activities in Robust, High Volume Kiosk

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., June 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Shuttle Computer Group and ScholarChip® have teamed up to create a solution designed to keep track of student and staff school attendance efficiently and cost effectively. ScholarChip's Safety and Operations System incorporates Shuttle's X50 all-in-one computer with ScholarChip's software and accessories in a portable kiosk that is designed to be multi-purpose and placed where needed, capturing attendance at a rate over 40 students per minute.

The kiosk includes two screens which display student photos as their contactless NFC ID card is waived near the card readers. A printer is attached to the kiosk to create temporary IDs and late passes. When connected to a network, attendance is monitored in real time, giving administrators vital security information as well as accurate student counts used in state funding.

With additional hardware, a kiosk may capture visitor information and issue visitor passes. Wall mounted kiosks are also available. Schools use these kiosks for a variety of attendance functions including:
