Shuzz Goal to Reach Massive Milestone - 100,000 Pairs of Shoes Has Been Reached!
This extraordinary goal has been reached in 2016 after only six years of Shuzz
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Shuzz Fund, a non-profit organization that provides shoes to children in poverty-stricken areas, announced it has donated 100,000 pairs of shoes in its lifetime, only having existed six years since Rita Lombardo founded the organization.
Fifty percent of the world's population is without proper footwear. 300 million of those people are children. Wearing shoes that fit properly prevents more than 37 diseases and 20 foot disorders. The Shuzz mission is to provide new shoes & lower extremity medical procedures for children throughout the United States and in developing countries. In its sixth year, it has donated more shoes and helped more children than ever before, which has pushed the lifetime achievement to more than 100,000 shoes donated.
We seek to meet one simple need: a pair of shoes that fit properly to protect children from injury and disease, to enhance safety when playing, doing chores and going to school. 100 percent of public donations to Shuzz support ongoing programs: Back-2-School, Youth Athletics, International Relief, Disaster Relief and Medical Missions. Shuzz has been recognized for facilitating relief missions to donate shoes in impoverished communities across the globe. Private donors fund our operating costs so 100% of public donations go straight to buying and distributing shoes. Corporate investments fuel our long-term mission and our ability to scale as an organization, allowing us to remain true to our mission of using 100% of public donations for shoe projects.

The Shuzz Fund is volunteer based, with the exception of one full time employee. We have more than 200 volunteers that support Shuzz throughout the year – we call them solegivers. Year round, we accept new volunteers and new shoe donations. We also welcome nearly 1,000 guests to our annual fundraiser, the SHUZZ | ART | FASHION Show which takes place every spring in South Florida.
