Siemens Launches a New Distribution Feeder-automation System in the U.S.

NEW ORLEANS, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Siemens Energy, Inc. launched today its new SDFA™ distribution feeder-automation system, an innovation that utilizes standard intelligent electric devices (IEDs) on an open communication protocol with a peer-to-peer logic structure. In addition, it comes pre-configured for ease of installation and can be used with a combination of devices, including SDR reclosers, Bridges Electric® type Vector® switches and capacitor control. The benefits of these features in the peer-to-peer backbone is that the control and logic are brought to the lowest possible level allowing for quick, precise and reliable reactions to changes in the utility's distribution grid.
