Sierra Wireless and Prumaro launch 3G interactive multimedia system

Solution delivers targeted, localized content in buses and kiosks

LJUBLJANA, Slovenia and BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) and Prumaro d.o.o., in coordination with local integrator Telos d.o.o., today announced a breakthrough advancement in digital media with the expansive deployment of Prumaro's GEM interactive multimedia system in 128 public buses and 64 kiosks throughout Slovenia's bustling capital of Ljubljana.

The GEM interactive digital signage application, powered by Sierra Wireless' AirLink(TM) Pinpoint X mobile communications gateway with embedded ALEOS(TM) intelligence and Mobitel's 3G broadband network, provides advertisers the ability to present extremely localized and timely promotional content in real-time to transit passengers and pedestrians. Customers can interact with the targeted display system directly or via SMS to vote, play games, win prizes, complete surveys and more. The high-precision GPS receiver integrated within the AirLink PinPoint X enables Prumaro to know the location of their signs at all times and allows the content to be highly relevant based on the location of the vehicle or kiosk.

Intelligence and Remote Management

Reliable and persistent connectivity is the key to Prumaro's state-of-the-art GEM multimedia solution, which is facilitated by the AirLink PinPoint X mobile gateway on the Mobitel HSUPA broadband network. The PinPoint X is powered by ALEOS embedded intelligence, which ensures a secure always-on, always-aware connection and enables robust remote configuration and control through the AirLink suite of management software. This comprehensive solution enables management of the GEM systems' network of displays and allows real-time content updates and dynamic adjustments that trigger extremely localized, and therefore relevant, promotions.
