SEATTLE, May 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sigby (https://www.sigby.com), a one-stop site for parents to find and book kids' activities, classes and camps, today announces an innovative and easy way for parents and PTAs to raise money for their schools with its "Fun for Funds" program.
Schools receive $3 for every activity booked on Sigby.com, $1.25 for each parent who registers through the program, and $30 for each activity provider referred to Sigby by school parents.
Fun for Funds is a free program for the school, PTA or families. More than ten Seattle-area schools are already taking part in the initial pilot. Sigby is expanding the program to any school in the greater Seattle area. For complete details and to sign up, visit: https://www.sigby.com/about-affiliate-program
"With a few hundred students doing summer camps, sports, dance classes and tutoring, the money can add up fast," said Deborah Sigler, head of fundraising at View Ridge Elementary School PTA. "This is a no-brainer for parents and schools. It doesn't cost the parents a dime and it's free money for the schools."
Unlike traditional fundraisers, Sigby allows PTAs to earn money throughout the year, even during the summer, an especially busy time for Sigby. In addition, there is no need to keep track of any cards or goods; Sigby's program does it automatically.
"Sigby makes it easier to connect parents with the right out-of-school activities to enrich their children's lives," said Katie Thompson, founder of Sigby. "Through Sigby's 'Fun for Funds' program, parents can simplify the camp sign up process, find activities and classes for their kids and raise money to support their school."
Based in Seattle, Wash., Sigby helps busy parents by simplifying the process of discovering, planning and booking kids' activities and programs. The Sigby team includes seasoned parents as well as technology experts and venture capital veterans.
