Sigma/Parkland to Highlight Robert O'Neill's "Your Grateful Nation" Charity
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Aug. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sigma Financial Corporation and Parkland Securities, LLC are proud supporters of the United States Military and our nation's veterans, and have made it a priority to highlight these heroes at their Annual National Conference held each fall. As winners of the WealthManagement.com's Industry Awards (2017) for their community contributions pertaining to the "Support Our Vets" initiative, Sigma and Parkland continue their journey to provide support for those who have sacrificed so much for them.
During the course of conference preparations and lasting throughout the entirety of the conference, Sigma Financial and Parkland Securities conduct multiple rounds of fundraising to support the United States Military and/or their veterans. Rob O'Neill, one of the most highly-decorated combat veterans of our time and the author of the New York Times best-selling memoir The Operator: Firing the Shots That Killed Osama bin Laden and My Years as a SEAL Team Warrior, is also a co-founder of "Your Grateful Nation," a nonprofit organization that provides individual transition support to special operations veterans returning to civilian life. This charity offers everything from psychological and cultural assessments, mentoring, performance coaching, business networking skills and contract negotiation support. This year, Sigma Financial and Parkland Securities will be focusing their fundraising efforts on assisting this impressive charity.
Previous years' headliners include SSG Travis Mills, retired United States Army Staff Sergeant of the 82nd Airborne, who is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive his injuries after being critically injured on his third tour of duty. Travis, a New York Times best-selling author of Tough as They Come, started a nonprofit organization – the "Travis Mills Foundation" – to benefit and assist wounded and injured veterans and their families. Sigma Financial/Parkland Securities, through fundraising efforts, were able to donate $66,000 to the Travis Mills Foundation in 2017.
In 2018, Sigma Financial/Parkland Securities hope to create an upwelling of support for Rob O'Neill's nonprofit "Your Grateful Nation."
