SHELTON, Conn., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Sikorsky Aerospace Services announced today the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Job Performance Associates, Inc. (JPA) for the development of interactive multimedia training products linked to Sikorsky technical publications. Sikorsky Aerospace Services (SAS) is the aftermarket division of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
Based on specific training needs identified by SAS, JPA will create and provide a library of web-based learning videos. These powerful, interactive multimedia tools – known as Job Performance Aids – provide "visual learning" unlike traditional printed and electronic training publications. The user is able to see step-by-step demonstrations of procedures, thereby facilitating quick, easy learning and information retention. By streamlining efficiencies, this visual training technology aligns with Sikorsky's efforts to reduce direct operational costs for its customers.
"With video demonstrations embedded in our technical manuals, our field service representatives will be able to maintain the highest training standards. This technology provides an innovative way to standardize as well as reinforce on-the-job training among our facilities worldwide. We are pleased to team with JPA to advance training capabilities at all levels of our enterprise," said David Adler, president of Sikorsky Aerospace Services.
Michael Leigh, chief operations officer of Job Performance Associates, added: "We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Sikorsky Aerospace Services. I believe that together we are going to dramatically change the way many companies educate and communicate to their employees."
