Director Dunham L. Craig Appointed Interim CEO

VANCOUVER, Aug. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - SilverCrest Metals Inc. ("SilverCrest" or the "Company") announced today that N. Eric Fier, President and Chief Executive Officer, has taken a partial leave of absence due to a medical procedure which he is undergoing this week. Dunham L. Craig, P.Geo., Director, has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer and will assume the CEO responsibilities on a temporary basis. Mr. Fier will remain as President and Director of SilverCrest until such time as he is able to return to his duties on a full time basis which is anticipated to be by the end of 2016. In his absence, SilverCrest will rely on the depth and experience of its management and directors to professionally execute its stated business objectives.

As Interim CEO, Mr. Craig brings over 26 years of professional mining and management experience to assist SilverCrest in Mr. Fier's absence. Mr. Craig's experience in the mining industry has encompassed all aspects of mining and operations, progressing from exploration discovery to feasibility, financing, permitting, construction and production related to two mines. He has extensive experience in Canada, Central America and Mexico with groups such as Wheaton River Minerals Inc. and Glencairn Gold Inc. and has worked in development, construction and production in Latin America for over 15 years. In early 2015, he served as Interim President of SilverCrest Mines Inc. and was a director from April 29, 2014 until its sale in October 2015 to First Majestic Silver Corp.
J. Scott Drever, previously CEO and President of SilverCrest Mines Inc. and a former director of SilverCrest Metals Inc., remains an active advisor to the Executives and Board of Directors of the Company.
