Simmons Adds TENCEL® Fiber To Beautyrest® Line
Now First Layer of its Advanced Temperature Management Design
ATLANTA, May 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Simmons Hospitality Bedding, a division of Simmons Bedding Company, LLC, has added TENCEL® fiber to its Advanced Temperature Management design. More absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen, TENCEL is now the first layer of temperature control in the mattress, absorbing and wicking away moisture. Simmons' exclusive design manages sleep disturbing heat build-up in the bed for a cooler, more comfortable guest sleep experience.
"Delivering a great night's sleep to guests is now a brand-defining priority in hospitality," said Steve Tipton, vice president of Simmons Hospitality Bedding. "Adding TENCEL to the first layer of fiber in the mattress brings the exclusive Beautyrest® Advanced Temperature Management design to a whole new level. Its unique temperature reducing properties, combined with our patent-pending AirCool® gel-infused foam, helps keep the bed cool so guests sleep more comfortably. "
TENCEL is a botanic fiber from Lenzing Group. Key features of this environmentally-friendly fiber include:
- High moisture absorbency – TENCEL quickly absorbs and then releases moisture back into the environment, effectively transporting moisture away from the body even at a humidity level of 65 percent.
- Depresses the growth of microorganisims – By maintaining optimal moisture management, TENCEL retards the unrestricted growth of bed mites, bacteria and mold. It is also hypoallergenic.
- Cool and dry to the touch – TENCEL fibers are cool to the touch and soft on the skin.
"Lenzing focuses on developing high performance TENCEL filling materials that are sustainably produced, cutting edge technical advancements and top quality," said Nina Nadash, Home & Interiors marketing manager, Lenzing North America. "Beautyrest® is a truly inspired and unique brand, and we're excited about the creative synergy that has led to this collaborative innovation which will enable hospitality guests to sleep better."
Innovation with Purpose
Many Simmons mattresses feature Beautyrest Pocketed Coil® springs which work independently, contouring to the curve of the body and preventing motion from being transferred from one side of the bed to the other. With the addition of Advanced Temperature Management design – TENCEL fiber and patent-pending AirCool gel-infused foams – a consistently exceptional, comfortable guest sleep experience will be delivered. This line is also now pre-treated with a high-performance stain protection technology exclusive to Simmons, adding to the life and cleanliness of the product.
"Innovators never sleep," says Tipton. "Every day, we think about how to improve our products; how to make a great bed even better, so our customers can deliver a guest experience that will strengthen guest loyalty and their bottom line. I strongly believe our Beautyrest Advanced Temperature Management design will do just that."
