SK, Decides to Push Ahead with MLB Posting of Kwang-hyun Kim

SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SK Wyverns finally gave the "conditional approval on MLB posting" to Kwang-hyun Kim (26) who obtained FA status by completing his seventh KBO (the Korea Baseball Organization) season this year.

SK Wyverns finally gave the "conditional approval on MLB posting" to Kwang-hyun Kim (26) who obtained FA status by completing his seventh KBO(the Korea Baseball Organization) season this year.

SK Wyverns Baseball Club decided to allow Kwang-hyun Kim, who became qualified to play overseas after winning the gold medal at the Incheon Asian Games, to be posted to MLB teams if he would be properly treated as one of the best pitchers on the Korean national team. The club had an official press conference on October 29 and said that they would cooperate with Kim to send him to the Big league. However, they have not set up a proper value of Kim yet.

Kim said, "I would like to thank the club owner, coaches, staff, and fellow players for giving me such a great opportunity. If major league baseball teams value my potential appropriately and is willing to make a reasonable bid for me then I will make my challenge in gratitude. I will not let all these people and my fans down."

However, we finally decided to approve MLB posting for Kim as we'd watched his exemplary plays in the KBO league and we also believe he will be able to play a great role in having both Korea and its baseball known more and better to all over the world. Although the team will lose quite a bit of its strength, letting him go, it hopes everybody both in Korea and the U.S. sends him continuous love and support."

SK Wyverns will start posting process for Kwang-hyun Kim through Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) on November 1.
