Sky House Debuts East Building, Experiential New Website
Adaptive Reuse in Revitalized SW Quadrant Leverages Unbeatable Views
WASHINGTON, Jan. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Sky House, a new twin-building apartment development in Southwest Washington, D.C., today kicked off leasing of its East building. In addition to opening its doors, a "Digital Grand Opening" unveiled a new website that tells the story of Sky House through its astounding views.
Sky House East features 266 apartments in a mix of studio, one & two bedroom floor plans ranging from 398 to 1,127 square feet and priced from the $1600s. Apartments boast different combinations of high-end finishes, giving each its own modern, edgy and dramatic flair that looks great from every angle. While the apartments feature extraordinary views, the best sights can be found at the Sky House rooftop pool and observation deck ("Splash" and "View," respectively). At 130 feet, the buildings are the tallest residential structures in Southwest and feature unobstructed panoramic views of the monuments, the Capitol, and the Potomac.
In addition to its notable roof, Sky House offers the following amenities:
- "Grrroom" on-site pet grooming space
- KICK Fitness Center with free-weights, cardio and a personal trainer available
- "Spark" outdoor patio with seating areas, water features, and grills
- "Lounge" clubroom and kitchenette featuring multiple seating areas and numerous TVs
- "Play" game room featuring a pool table and TVs available for next-gen gaming
Rather than tear down the existing buildings, the former EPA headquarters, Sky House took the environmentally conscious route of adapting the space from office to residential, making it one of the first LEED adaptive re-use projects in the District.
Additionally, Sky House is a driving force behind the revitalization of the Southwest quadrant, one of D.C.'s most exciting urban evolutions in decades. Sky House residents have eclectic options nearby for dining, shopping and entertainment, including the adjacent Arena Stage, Safeway, Starbucks, CVS and restaurants like Station 4 and Z Burger. Sky House is also within walking distance of the Boiler Maker Shops, Barracks Row, Yards Park, and Nationals Stadium. The Waterfront Metro station is steps away as well, and parking is available for residents.
Sky House encourages interested renters to experience the property in person, and will hold a series of events this winter to promote the development. For the latest, visit http://www.skyhousedc.com and follow Sky House on Twitter and Facebook.
