SUGAR LAND, Texas, Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Skye Petroleum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: SKPO) is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Bossier City, Louisiana. Billy Joe Edwards, who brings almost 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, will be joining Skye Petroleum as its Executive Vice President of Development. Edwards will lead this new office, which gives Skye Petroleum a closer location to better serve the markets in north Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, East Texas and Oklahoma. Edwards, as the inventor of the Endurance Brand Rod Guide in the mid 1980s, has built a solid reputation among his many contacts in the oil industry throughout the United States and other parts of the world (Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Canada, Romania, etc.). Edwards will focus on product testing, technical assistance for end users, sales and development of the overall Skye brand. Edwards said, "It is an exciting time to be a part of Skye Petroleum. Edwards struggled to sell rod guides in regions that paraffin was too difficult to overcome. After reading about the advances made by Skye Petroleum in a trade magazine in early 2012, he contacted the company. He initially had no intention of selling the product, but soon realized the benefit of the Skye Chem Wax Dispersant-Ready to Use (WD-RTU) chemical in promoting his rod guide business, as well as the producer's ability to lower lifting costs. Billy Joe has since retired from the rod guide business in order to join Skye Petroleum and further advance this unique chemistry into the marketplace.
