Barbagallo and Nishi join recently named Vice President of Sales Dave Ferretti, Vice President of Product Management Dr. Alessandro Fin and Vice President of Array Systems Roy DCruz on the Skyera executive team, helping to transform an already-seasoned leadership group into one of the most experienced and dynamic collection of talent assembled at a newly founded company.
Barbagallo comes to Skyera from WildPackets, where he was vice president of marketing and international sales. Previously, he was vice president of marketing at storage virtualization startup Viathan. The company was acquired by backup software maker Dantz, where he served as vice president of marketing and sales, guiding them to profitability and subsequent acquisition by EMC. Prior to Dantz, Barbagallo was a group manager at Microsoft via its acquisition of VXtreme, where he served as vice president of marketing. He has also held sales and marketing positions with EVault, Mentor Graphics, Wind River and Sun Microsystems. Tony's network management and storage software experience will complement a team rich in flash memory and storage systems design expertise.
Nishi has more than 20 years of financial experience in both public and private companies. Prior to joining Skyera, he held senior financial management positions at Echelon Corporation, Toshiba America Electronic Components, Johnson Controls and New Holland in Japan. Nishi passed the certified public accounting exams in California, and earned a B.S. in business from California State University and an MBA in finance from the Marshall School at the University of Southern California.
"It can take years to assemble the core group of talent that we've been able to secure in just a few short months," said Dr. Radoslav Danilak, Skyera CEO. "There is a remarkable feeling of enthusiasm among everyone here at Skyera, which grows more intense with each additional hire to our executive team. We are very pleased to add the talent and experience of Tony and Mitch to our ranks and look forward to their guidance as we shape the next storage revolution."
