Skywell Brings Air Water To Southern California Businesses As Sustainable Alternative To Conventional Water Sources

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine filling your glass with clean, fresh drinking water made from the air.  While it may sound like science fiction, a new Los Angeles-based company, Skywell LLC, is making it a reality in Southern California.  In the midst of the region's worst drought in history, the water-technology company is rolling out a series of products that create air water, a new source of water to the business and office communities throughout Southern California in Orange County, Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. 

Skywell will be unveiling three models of air water dispensers as part of its Southern California launch.   The Skywell 5T features an interactive touch screen with programmable features designed to transform the water-consuming experience at the office.  The Skywell 100P and Skywell 100N are high-capacity units designed for both potable and non-potable usage.  Skywell is planning to launch its air water technology to additional U.S. markets for the home and office in 2015.

Inspired by the global water crisis, as well as the one occurring in their own California backyards, Skywell's founders have focused their entrepreneurial skill and experience to develop advanced air water technology with the mission of changing the way that people think about drinking water.  In creating Skywell, their vision is to provide a socially responsible, environmentally friendly, healthy alternative to traditional drinking-water sources, such as single-use plastics and 5-gallon water delivery, while reducing their customers' water footprint.

The Skywell technology draws ambient air into the unit where it undergoes a process similar to nature's very own water cycle -- moisture is collected and then purified using a rigorous multi-filter process, along with the introduction of ultraviolet and ozone exposure between storage and consumption. The Skywell requires only a standard electrical outlet to operate and sits on four wheels so that it can be placed anywhere.

The Skywell 5T features an 8-inch, high-resolution, interactive touch screen that engages users with water-temperature displays, water facts, and stored water volume.  It dispenses the "hottest" hot water and the "coldest" cold water in the industry with customizable settings of 190-200 degrees F for hot water and approximately 37 degrees F for cold water.

Dorfman co-founded Skywell with Jonathan Carson and Eric Kurtzman, both past recipients of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Los Angeles for their success in creating the Los Angeles-based technology firm, Kurtzman Carson Consultants, which redefined the corporate-restructuring administration industry.  The Skywell team is passionate about applying their entrepreneurial skills to making a positive impact on the environment and their communities.
