SkyWest, Inc. Reports Combined November 2016 Traffic for SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines

ST. GEORGE, Utah, Dec. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest, Inc., (NASDAQ: SKYW) ("SkyWest") today reported 148,707 block hours in November 2016, compared to 162,989 block hours in November 2015, a decrease of 14,282 or 8.8%.  The net decrease was consistent with SkyWest's fleet transition plan to improve the mix of aircraft in its fleet by adding new E175 aircraft, while reducing its 50-seat jets.

The year-over-year net change was primarily driven by approximately 8,700 additional block hours from its E175 aircraft and a decrease of approximately 23,000 block hours from its other aircraft types.   

In November 2016, SkyWest's dual class aircraft represented approximately 44% of SkyWest's total block hour production for the month compared to approximately 41% for the month of November 2015.       

SkyWest reported 1,781,704 block hours for year-to-date November 2016, compared to 1,908,268 block hours year-to-date November 2015, a decrease of 126,564, or 6.6%.  This net change was primarily driven by approximately 82,600 additional block hours from its E175 aircraft and a decrease of approximately 209,200 block hours from its other aircraft types.

SkyWest had 88,485 departures in November 2016 compared to 95,512 in November 2015, a decrease of 7,027, or 7.4%.  SkyWest generated 2.65 billion available seat miles (ASMs) for November 2016, compared to 2.86 billion ASMs for November 2015, or a 7.3% decrease.
