The Missing Metric in the Modern Wellness Movement

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Americans spend approximately 90% of their time indoors, where concentrations of certain pollutants are often two to five times higher than typical outdoor levels. Furniture, flooring, paints, and everyday household products can continuously and silently release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including formaldehyde, a known human carcinogen, into the spaces where we sleep, work, and raise our families. PECO-HEPA Advanced™ Technology: Three Technologies, One Filter

At the heart of both new purifiers is Molekule's PECO-HEPA Advanced Technology, Molekule's next-generation filtration system is engineered to address a broader range of airborne pollutants beyond what HEPA particle filtration can achieve by itself. PECO-HEPA Advanced Technology works through three integrated components: (i) high-efficiency HEPA media that captures microscopic particles including dust, pollen and smoke; (ii) an advanced activated carbon layer that adsorbs certain VOCs, gases and odors; and (iii) UV-A-activated photocatalytic media engineered to effectively destroy certain organic pollutants including VOCs (such as formaldehyde) and biological contaminants (such as allergens, mold, viruses and bacteria) at the filter surface. PECO-HEPA Advanced Technology incorporates a patent-pending photocatalytic method and patented hybrid filter developed to improve pollutant breakdown and maintain performance across its recommended six-month replacement cycle.

Wildfire smoke is one of the most difficult pollutants to combat because of its mixture of particulate matter along with toxic VOC's and gases. PECO-HEPA Advanced Technology is a purpose-built three-layer filtration system that is shown to be effective against combatting wildfire smoke pollutants. Independent test results show that it captures 99.97% of ultrafine smoke particles down to .3 microns and is effective at destroying five common wildfire toxins (benzene, toluene, and three xylene isomers) by 75% in one hour.
