SlimGenics Announces Flagship Sponsorship of the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
DENVER, Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SlimGenics Weight Loss Centers announced their Flagship Sponsorship of the American Cancer Society's (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) Walk. This free 5K walk raises awareness and donations for furthering research and prevention to finish the fight against breast cancer.
One in every three cancer deaths can be prevented through proper nutrition and physical activity, according to the ACS. As a leader in nutritionally based weight loss counseling through their innovative STEP™ Program, SlimGenics is proud to partner with the ACS in the fight to end breast cancer, while raising awareness of the long-term health benefits of proper nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
"Our goal is to improve the health and quality of life for people challenged with weight issues, and participating in this walk is a perfect way to demonstrate the importance of living a healthy lifestyle," says Unity Franko, SlimGenics' president and chief operating officer. "SlimGenics believes in giving back. Being a Flagship Sponsor is a wonderful way to support an organization that brings us one step closer to finding a cure for breast cancer."
Uniting nearly 300 communities around the country to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer, MSABC is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation. The 5K will be held on Sunday, October 19th at 9 a.m. at Village Center Station in Greenwood Village, CO. Participants can register at any SlimGenics Weight Loss Center around the Denver Metro area, and will receive a special 20% discount off of their STEP Program when they sign up to walk with the SlimGenics Team.
