Slot Mods USA Races Into Ultimate Holiday List

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., Oct. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Slot Mods USA, a Detroit-based company that builds exquisitely detailed, handcrafted slot-car racing tracks, hits the big-time this holiday season with the premiere of a $300,000 Slot Mods USA track in the 2014 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. The 88th edition of the annual luxury wish book features everything from Swarovski crystal ornaments to Maserati sports cars.

Slot Mods USA also is expected to make its live television debut on NBC's "Today" Show on Wednesday.

Founded in 2009 by entrepreneur David Beattie, Slot Mods USA has grown from a basement business to a global enterprise, building handmade, 1/32-scale wooden electric slot-car tracks for wealthy buyers from around the world, including racing legends Bobby Rahal and Tony George.

Period-correct slot cars, pit crews and grandstands, along with integrated in-track cameras that display the action on mini-screens, immerse slot-car enthusiasts into the on-track action.

The Slot Mods USA item in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, titled the Slot Mods USA Ultimate Slot Car Raceway and priced at $300,000, includes a re-creation of the buyer's fantasy track along with an inaugural race night party co-hosted by racing legends such as Vic Elford and David Hobbs. Neiman Marcus is donating $3,500 to The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation, which supports youth arts education, for every Slot Mods USA Ultimate Slot Car Raceway purchased.
