Smart Tap Supports Partnership for a Healthier America's Effort to Encourage Americans to Drink More Water More Often
WATERTOWN, Wis., Sept. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Smart Tap is a proud supporter of a landmark effort launched by the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), which works with the private sector and PHA Honorary Chair First Lady Michelle Obama to make the healthy choice the easy choice for busy parents and families.

The initiative kicked off last Thursday at Watertown High School in Wisconsin and aims to encourage Americans and their families to drink more water, more often. The effort brings together leaders from the water industry, entertainment, media and government.
"Drinking more water is an easy choice that almost anyone can make every day to improve health," said Drew Nannis, Chief Marketing Officer, PHA. "We're pleased that Smart Tap, a like-minded organization that aims to improve the health of families in the United States by inspiring them to drink more water, has joined us in this effort."
Smart Tap provides bottle-filing stations with drinking water fountains to cities free of charge, making the safe, clean and healthy municipal drinking water supplies more accessible. After every installation, Smart Tap maintains a regular schedule of upkeep on the fountains to ensure they are clean and inviting to the public.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be participating in this effort, and the timing couldn't be better," said Bill Apfelbaum, Founder and CEO, Smart Tap. "Smart Tap makes municipal water accessible for cities and parks across the country with water bottle filling stations, making it so much easier to drink water while on-the-go. Now there will be the opportunity to Drink Up wherever you go!"
As part of their support of the initiative, Smart Tap is also giving a water bottle filling station to Watertown High School, just like it does to cities and parks throughout the U.S. and Smart Tap will include the "Drink Up" logo on all of its existing and future taps.
Smart Tap encourages Americans to Drink Up! because not only is water one of the easiest choices to make, but in the United States, huge effort and dollars are dedicated to ensuring that municipal water supplies are safe and clean across the country. Smart Tap is working closely with cities and parks and agencies across the country to make it easier for everyone to Drink Up!

About The Partnership For A Healthier America
The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) is devoted to working with the private sector to ensure the health of our nation's youth by solving the childhood obesity crisis. In 2010, PHA was created in conjunction with – but independent from – First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! effort. PHA is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization that is led by some of the nation's most respected health and childhood obesity experts. PHA brings together public, private and nonprofit leaders to broker meaningful commitments and develop strategies to end childhood obesity. Most important, PHA ensures that commitments made are commitments kept by working with unbiased third parties to monitor and publicly report on the progress our partners are making. For more information about PHA, please visit www.aHealthierAmerica.org and follow PHA on Twitter @PHAnews.
