CALGARY, Jan.12, 2015 /CNW/ - SMART Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA), an innovator and leading provider of collaboration solutions, announces its first large-scale shipment of the revolutionary SMART kapp™ digital capture board. Westcoast Ltd. has been appointed as SMART's master distributor for SMART kapp in the UK and Ireland, and has committed to order thousands of units to be distributed throughout the UK and Irish markets.
Founded just over 30 years ago, Westcoast is one of the leading distributors for IT and office products, with revenues over GBP 1.5 billion. This partnership provides SMART with enormous reach into some of its key markets, including large corporate commercial resellers, value-add system integrators, on-line retailing, hotels, conference rooms and large retailers serving the public. In conjunction with large shipments over the coming months, SMART and Westcoast plan an aggressive marketing rollout plan that aims to drive the replacement of the outdated whiteboard and flip chart.
