It's SnappyMapz, a mobile application that enables the user to take a photo and save it to the cloud in one click. The app is ideal for law enforcement, cataloging, marking a visual trail, or providing "crowd maps" of events or survey photography.
"Now the application is being beta-tested for Android use," says Smith, founder and CEO of TLC Secure, Inc., which is developing SnappyMapz. "Our goal is to improve the Android app and then create an iPhone and iPad version. Eventually, we will extend our offerings to include video, 3D images and possibly wearable devices."
"Our vision is to extend the concept to allow different products and services to use our app to authenticate images, query image information and integrate with third-party services," Smith says.
For a detailed description of the product, including diagrams that illustrate its functionality, visit the SnappyMapz website (www.snappymapz.com).
Additional capital is needed to keep the project moving forward. Smith estimates that $50,000 is necessary for research, development materials and testing. To generate this funding, he has launched an Indiegogo campaign, which can be viewed at www.indiegogo.com/projects/snappymapz.
Donations of any amount are welcome. For just $1, backers can receive the latest Android SnappyMapz beta for download plus a personal account on the support portal. This is includes FAQs, tips and announcements.
A pledge of $100 or greater is rewarded with a license for SnappyMapz PRO, the upgraded version of the app.
Sridhar Duraisami is CTO and Lead Developer with the company. Creating applications and seeing them in use has always been a dream for Sridhar and SnappyMapz is a project he is very passionate about.
"We have already built, tested, and developed the Android SnappyMapz app free edition and gotten very, very positive feedback from dozens of beta testers worldwide," Smith says. "Developing an iOS version could prove to be challenging and time-consuming, but we really want to reach the iPhone/iPad community. Our team is experienced and creative, and we're confident we can bring an Apple app up quickly."
