SOCH to Sponsor Memorial Service for Braddock Hospital
In Loving Memory of Braddock Hospital - June 27, 1906 - January 31, 2010
BRADDOCK, Pa., March 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on Fifth Street in Braddock, PA, Save Our Community Hospitals (SOCH) is sponsoring a memorial service for Braddock Hospital (http://www.savebraddock.org).
The memorial service is to honor, remember and celebrate the one hundred years of service Braddock Hospital provided the residents of Braddock and the Mon Valley before UPMC decided to shut its doors.
There will be memorial speeches featuring Rev. James McDonald, local residents and poets. Local musicians will provide music. A potluck lunch will follow the services.
Braddock Hospital's emergency room served 25,000 people a year. The loss of this hospital is strongly missed and there is nothing to replace the healthcare that has been lost. As the demolition of the hospital continues at its current pace, soon all traces of Braddock Hospital will be gone except for a big hole.
Join us for this memorial service on Saturday, March 19, 2011 to honor the hospital, the volunteers and the doctors and nurses who served our community.
For additional information of the memorial service, contact Tony Buba at 412-351-4808 or [email protected].
