Societe Generale Launches CMBS Business, Hires Industry Leading Team
NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking announced today that it has launched a U.S. Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities business and hired a team of seasoned CMBS professionals with experience in all aspects of CMBS. Societe Generale's CMBS team will engage in the full range of CMBS activities from origination to distribution.
The CMBS team joining Societe Generale will bring extensive market experience and industry know-how that will complement Societe Generale's specialized product approach, recognized expertise in securitization, structuring and engineering and financial innovation capabilities.
Wayne Potters* joins Societe Generale as Head of CMBS and is based in New York. A veteran industry professional, he was most recently Head of RBS's Commercial Real Estate Group since 2013 and with the bank since 2010. He has previously worked at Fortress, Merrill Lynch and CSFB in various senior CMBS roles.
Adam Ansaldi joins to head CMBS securitization for Societe Generale. He previously oversaw RBS's CMBS group's award winning distribution and securitization platform. Prior to RBS he led the commercial real estate securitization group at JP Morgan/Bear Stearns from 2001-2009.
Additional key team members include Gary Swon, Joey Petras, Chris Kramer and Peter Lewicki driving origination; Stewart Whitman managing REITS origination; David Goodwin managing CMBS credit; Jim Barnard and Justin Cappuccino in CMBS securitization; and Marty Black as CMBS underwriter.
This CMBS development is part of a global Societe Generale initiative headed in the U.S. by Hatem Mustapha* to develop asset backed product capabilities that will take advantage of a trend towards increased securitization to finance the economy at a time when many banks' capacity to hold assets on their balance sheets is limited. The addition of CMBS to Societe Generale's product platform also demonstrates the Bank's commitment to clients to provide world-class capabilities in structured finance as well as innovative investment opportunities in challenging and changing markets.
